Wardrobe Tip #5

The organiser in me loves auditing and streamlining a woman’s wardrobe.  The stylist in me loves mixing and matching new combinations and uncovering your hidden gems.  And yes I charge for it but you will love it in the end.  It is like having a merchandiser visit your wardrobe.

One wardrobe I recently audited with the owner was lots of fun.  She reminisced about some of her clothing choices, with the ‘what was I thinking’ question arising and oh ‘I love that’ from me.  She took me to other countries, to wonderful memories of family events or special dinners.  Clothing does that, it holds memories.

Some precious items are worth keeping, but if you no longer wear them, remove them from your daily wardrobe.  Of course space dictates what should be kept so only keep a couple of items.   I recommend you write the memory on a tag, attach it to the garment and then seal these items in a vacuum pack bag.

My daughter is only 9 years old, but I look forward to showing her the top I was wearing when I met her dad, or the Scanlan & Theodore velvet flares with matching top that I wore on one of our first dates.  She may even enjoy wearing them too.

Enjoy your memories but save the space in your wardrobe for those things you wear now.
